7:00 PM-8:15 PM CRUX Lenten Study Group
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in
weakness”
(2 Corinthians 12:9).
As a parish,
we invite you to join us in learning to surrender to Christ in faith this
Lent. An obstacle to real growth in Christ is self-reliance. Surrender is the
antidote to self-reliance.
One way we are doing this is by participating in Ascension’s new Lenten
program, Crux, with Fr. Columba Jordan, CFR. Crux: Daily Lenten
Meditations is a daily devotional that helps you build a habit of Scripture
reading and prayer, keeping your eyes fixed on your Lenten goals and reminding
you of your true identity in Christ.
The
devotional encourages physical and spiritual disciplines, finding ways to
challenge ourselves exactly where we’re at.
You can purchase your devotional here: www.osvhub.com/stjudeparish/forms/crux-lenten-study, or come by during office hours to purchase one there. Books can be picked up at the first study session.
You’re also welcome to follow along at
home on your own.
There will be weekly small-group meetings on Wednesday Evenings at 7:00 pm in the Formation Room. These will include prayer, a
discussion, and a weekly video with Fr. Columba.

6:30 PM - 8:30 PM The Light is ON For You - AS/PN/RR
The Church encourages us to make confession a regular part of our
spiritual life, especially during the holy season of Lent, as we reflect
on our baptism and repentance. Bishop Burns is helping to
make this experience possible by arranging for a Lenten initiative
called The Light Is ON For You.
On March 25, 2026 and April 1, 2026 , all parishes in the
Catholic Diocese of Dallas will have their "lights on" for confession
and quiet prayer so that Catholics can come to or return to this
incredible source of God’s grace, mercy and healing.
"Don't be afraid of Confession. When
you go into a confessional, you have so many emotions, including shame.
But afterwords you feel free, great, beautiful and forgiven ... Each one
of you should ask yourselves: When was the last time I went to
Confession? If a lot of time has passed, then don't let another day go
by. Go forward."
- Pope Francis, February 19, 2014
